Mr. Kaufman's Classroom

Welcome to My Classroom

Please use the above viewlets to access general class information.

I am excited to be a part of the school community.  My teaching assignment includes Grade 7, Science, Math, and PLS for (7-4, 7-6) as well as Outdoor Pursuits and Physical Education.]

My philosophy is simple; together we can grow and learn while having fun.  All of us are responsible for ourselves and we must treat one another with respect and dignity. I am a firm believer in 'It takes a village to raise a child.'  We are a team with our primary role being to help your child be successful.  Middle school is about building a foundation of good habits in conjunction with curricular knowledge.

Please feel free to contact me through email as questions arise.   As well you can meet me face to face at a time that is convenient for both of us.

We are parts of a team whose primary goal is to ensure student success.

  1. Daily use of an agenda, planner, or electronic calendar is an expectation
  2. Organization is a key; students can keep math and science together or in separate binders or duo tangs.  The key is to bring all materials to class as needed.
  3. Review and practice of key terms, definitions and math process at home for 15 - 20 minutes per subject four times a week is expected.  This is review for understanding first and to complete work as needed.
  4. Extra help or assistance will always be given both during and outside of class time, students need to ask for and organize this time:  Before school, after school, or at lunch time all can work.  At noon hour I have supervision on days 2 and 5, so  I am not available.  Try me last minute, but organizing an appointment ahead will ensure my availability.

See Classroom Info Button for regular updates of classroom work.  I try to give a basic outline of what we've been learning in class.  Students are always asked to share any results of quizzes, tests, projects and assignments with their parents.

If you have any questions, please contact me via email at wkaufman or  call the school at 403.948.2445
